Privacy policy

Spelltide is a free word game. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or any other personal details. This page explains what does get stored or shared when you play.

Your game data stays on your device

Your guesses, stats, streaks, Unlimited games and settings (such as light or dark mode) are saved in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Result images and share text are created in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it yourself.

To delete this data, clear the site data for Spelltide in your browser settings. Your stats and streak will reset.

Anonymous usage counts

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count things like page views, puzzles finished, clues revealed, results shared and how many players come back the next day. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't build a profile of you or track you across other websites.

Advertising

Spelltide may show ads from Google AdSense to keep the game free. Ads only appear outside the puzzle itself.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.

Services that help run the site

Children

Spelltide does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
